Walter Quintus Walter Quintus

    onaigraph, violin, digitalia, tambura

Having been concert-master in different youth-orchestras and a Rock-musician he finally found himself active in studios. Essential was his position as chief sound engineer in the Rüssl-Studio of the German comedian Otto Waalkes where he has produced manifold music styles (Vicky Leandros, Roger Whittaker, Udo Lindenberg and Kraftwerk amongst others). He then became a freelancing sound engineer/producer in Europe.
The acquaintance of the renowned sound engineer with Kurt Renker finally culminated in his co-operation with CMP which has been lasting for more then a decade now. Especially the freedom of creativity and pioneering so typical for CMP enables him - on the contrary to commercial labels - to realize his ideas without time limits. It is taken for granted that musicality and highest demands to quality come first. Walter Quintus, ca. 1972

The long-time collaboration of Walter Quintus and Joachim Kühn led to the foundation of their own label Ambience with the two releases Dark (AMB 01) and Get Up (AMB 02). They perform on the Digital Soundboard developed by Walter Quintus and a Bechstein Grand Piano. Other musical collaborations, as can be seen from his discography, feature Walter as well performing on his violin (Mick Karn, Andy Rinehart, Victory Of The Better Man) as with his electronic contributions to many other projects.
